Abstract
► An accordance exists between the paleobathymetries evaluated by C.A. and P/B ratio. ► However, the variations of the paleodepths are more progressive in the C.A. method. ► From a layer to another, the C.A. method produces a “smoothing” of the results. ► Also, C.A. is applicable even to assemblages devoid of planktonic foraminifers. ► However, the use of C.A. is appropriate only for ramp, not for platform settings.
