Abstract
⺠Initially Hyaenodon species from all continents were studied concerning microwear. ⺠Evidence from the microwear and the enamel ultrastructure analysis was combined. ⺠A dietary niche similar to the spotted hyena and the lion is confirmed for Hyaenodon. ⺠For the first time different dietary niches are indicated for Hyaenodon.
