Abstract
► Lezetxiki II is a human-bearing site from the early Late Pleistocene MIS 5. ► It has the southwesternmost record of Sicista found to date in Eurasia. ► Pleistocene cold episodes pushed Sicista south- and westward into Europe. ► Cold, moderately humid conditions at Lezetxiki were ideal for Sicista betulina.
