Abstract
► High-resolution analyses are performed on Late Miocene Lake sediments. ► Geophysical and biotic proxies reveal several sub-Milankovitch cycles. ► Frequencies and modulations of the cycles are comparable with Holocene solar cycles. ► Each proxy responds individually to the forcing mechanism. ► A strong modulation of Holocene solar cycles is demonstrated by raw data filters.
