Abstract
► We trace lateral change of Frasnian conodont faunas in storm-affected reef habitats. ► The reworking pattern is incorporated into newly proposed taphofacies scheme. ► Primary ecologic signals are still partly preserved in the tempestite-derived faunas. ► Record of the pelagic biotas was most severely biased by strong return flows.
