Abstract
⺠The deserts in the northeastern Hexi Corridor formed no later than about 0.85 Ma. ⺠The whole of the Northwest Arid Area of China formed at about 0.85 Ma. ⺠The uplift of the Tibetan Plateau is thought to have triggered these events.
