Abstract
Iron nanorods are prepared by thermal annealing of borohydride reduced product of FeCl3 and its surface has been modified by SiO2 followed by Ag. These Ag encapsulated Fe@SiO2 nanostructures exhibit ferromagnetic and electromagnetic wave absorption properties as well as SERS activity.
