Abstract
⺠We investigate the effects of municipal effluents on caged mussels in the field. ⺠We characterize the bacterial and chemical contaminations arising from the effluent. ⺠NP, VOC and pharmaceutical products are the main organic contaminants detected. ⺠The effluents influence the immune functions and the cellular detoxication processes.
