Abstract
► Mercury can have profound and complicated effects on the immune system. ► We examined associations of mercury exposure with wheeze and eczema in children. ► Study subjects were 582 Japanese mother-child pairs. ► Range of hair mercury levels was 0.26−6.05 μg/g in mothers and 0.13−9.51 μg/g in children. ► Neither maternal nor children's hair mercury levels was related to wheeze or eczema.
