Abstract
► Fouling and transmission studies of microalgae (Chlorella sorokiniana). ► Direct microscopic observation technique is used to visualise the algae deposition. ► A higher threshold flux occurs at a higher cross-flow velocity. ► EPS transmission is affected by cross-flow velocity, flux and membrane properties. ► Air bubbling can control algae deposition on the membrane surface.
