Abstract
⺠We analyzed the impact of constituents of industrial activated sludge on filterability. ⺠Permeability alone has demonstrated to be a weak parameter to monitor operation. ⺠Instead, filterability provides much more information to monitor MBR processes. ⺠The colloidal fraction demonstrated to impact the most the filterability. ⺠Process optimization in industrial MBRs is possible not only in an energy saving scheme.
