Abstract
⺠Vegetable wastes were used as co-substrate in anaerobic digestion of manures. ⺠Addition of vegetable wastes increased up to 3 times methane yields. ⺠Hemicelluloses and 50% of cellulose but not lignin were converted to biogas. ⺠Thermal analysis was useful to evaluate the organic matter contained in the digestates. ⺠Energy released by digestates may be useful in evaluating the course of anaerobic digestion.
