Abstract
⺠In most cases, waste gasification is implemented as a “two-step oxidation” process. ⺠Two-step oxidation achieves only few of the potential advantages of gasification. ⺠Its energy performances are somewhat lower than those of conventional WtE plants. ⺠Notable potential benefits are better quality of solid residues and better control. ⺠“Full” gasification schemes suffer from very challenging, still unresolved issues.
