Abstract
▶ Hydrophilic monomer N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP) was successfully grafted on the polypropylene non-woven fabric (PP-NWF) membrane surfaces by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) method. ▶ The NWF membrane became more hydrophilic after the introduction of PNVP. ▶ Permeation experiments of water and supernatant solution of active sludge showed enhanced antifouling property of modified membranes. ▶ The modified membranes can effectively restrain the adhesion of bacteria.
