Abstract
⺠Plastic resin pellets were collected from nine locations along the Portuguese coast. ⺠PCBs were two orders of magnitude higher in two major cities than in rural sites. ⺠Lower chlorinated PCBs were abundant in rural sites suggesting aerial transport. ⺠PAHs with petrogenic signature was detected at a site suggesting local oil input. ⺠Hopanes were ubiquitously detected in the pellets from the Portuguese coast.
