Abstract
⺠Cd, Cu, and Pb were determined in macroalgae from Veracruz Reefs, Gulf of Mexico. ⺠Mean concentrations were lower or similar to those from other coastal areas. ⺠Cd and Pb levels are controlled by fluvial discharge. ⺠Sediment scavenging also controls environmental trace metal levels. ⺠Pb environmental concentrations have been decreasing in the lasts two decades.
