Abstract
⺠Symbiotic foraminifera are highly sensitive to herbicide-induced photodamage. ⺠Symbiont type and ultrastructure determine herbicide kinetics and extent stress. ⺠Hyaline, diatom-hosting foraminifera proved most vulnerable to diuron. ⺠Herbicide concentrations measured in flood plumes may chronically impact photosynthesis in symbiotic foraminifera.
