Abstract
⺠We quantify dinoflagellate cysts resuspended in sediment disrupted by fishing gears. ⺠Gear components with lower hydrodynamic drag resuspend larger cyst concentrations. ⺠Higher cyst concentrations were observed in muddier sediments. ⺠Cyst concentrations decline with increasing sediment particle size. ⺠Wakes with smaller shear stresses mobilise fewer larger sand particles.
