Abstract
⺠Copper concentrations rose rapidly and exceeded water quality criteria after boat introduction in a new marina. ⺠Most copper was flushed rather than sequestered in sediment. ⺠A box model suggests the marina can accommodate less than half its capacity and have copper lower than regulatory limits. ⺠Scenarios suggest that copper levels could fall rapidly following switch to non-copper based paint.
