Abstract
⺠We investigate the impact of gold mine tailings disposal into the sea. ⺠We use a comparative impact-control approach. ⺠Similar abundance and diversity of zooplankton and micronekton at mine and control. ⺠High metal concentrations and biomagnification evident in lower trophic levels only. ⺠No differences in metal concentrations of fish at mine and control.
