Abstract
⺠Organochlorine residues were measured in sediment from the Candarli Gulf. ⺠DDTs in sediments were derived from the aged, weathered and recent inputs. ⺠DDTs and PCBs would be more concerned for the ecotoxicological risk in the Gulf. ⺠The sediments at Candarli Gulf could potentially cause acute biological impairment. ⺠Highest concentrations of PCBs were found near the petrochemical industry.
