Abstract
► NP biodegradation was species-specific, but NP removal was less affected by species. ► Chlorella vulgaris was the most suitable species for NP removal and biodegradation. ► Growth conditions presented evident effect on NP degradation, but not NP removal. ► It is feasible to remove NP from wastewater by green microalgae.
