Abstract
⺠Nineteen trace elements were determined in tissues of harp seals (Phoca groenlandica). Hg preferentially accumulates in the liver, and accumulation of Hg in other tissues is induced at higher hepatic Hg level. Hg concentrations in the hair may be useful for non-destructive monitoring of Hg. Relatively high Cd concentration in the testis is suspected to cause a potential toxic effect.
