Abstract
⺠Persistent halogenated compounds are ubiquitous in the mariculture environments. ⺠Dietary uptake may be the major route for exposure of fish to PHCs. ⺠The mariculture environment in South China is somewhat biologically impaired by DDT. ⺠There may be some cancer risk associated with fish consumption for humans.
