Abstract
⺠We studied photosynthesis and primary production of phytoplankton in an atoll lagoon. ⺠A significant spatial pattern was evidenced which was persistent over time. ⺠Larger cells exhibited different properties than smaller ones in space. ⺠Dynamic of the photosynthetic parameters was independent of light availability. ⺠These patterns are discussed in the context of nutrient availability.
