Abstract

âº We summarize why the Bird's Head is the global center of marine biodiversity. âº Rapid development in fisheries, oil and gas extraction, mineral mining and logging. âº Marine protected areas established at Seascape scale for biodiversity and fisheries. âº Conservation achieved through local actions and decision making.
