Abstract
⺠We censused sediment bacterial communities and contamination across six estuaries. ⺠Estuaries have varying degrees of metal and PAH contamination. ⺠Sediment bacterial community change correlated with metal and PAH concentrations. ⺠Sediment bacterial communities are useful indicators of contamination.
