Abstract
⺠Oil sample ignitability as a function of weathering found with a new burning cell. ⺠A large-scale experimental field burn validated the results from the burning cell. ⺠Weathering scale (laboratory/field) had no influence on the ignitability results. ⺠The time window for using in situ burning is extended with dense ice conditions. ⺠The burning cell can be used to measure ignitability during an oil spill operation.
