Abstract
⺠We analyze changes of prokaryotic diversity during sediment bioremediation. ⺠Selection of AlphaProteobacteria with lactose supply enhances hydrocarbon degradation. ⺠Changes of biodiversity have also major effects on metal partitioning and mobility. ⺠These should be considered when biotreatments are applied for sediment remediation.
