Abstract
⺠Eelpout (Zoarces viviparus) suitable indicator organism in Baltic and North Seas. ⺠Used in long-term (>15 years) integrated monitoring (chemical, biological effects). ⺠Integrated assessment of Good Environmental Status is called for in the MSFD. ⺠Larval development (inside mother) ecologically relevant biological effects endpoint. ⺠Specimen banking allow retrospective studies on chemical burdens.
