Abstract
⺠Acute sediment toxicity was detected in several Ukrainian estuaries. ⺠Occurrence of sediment toxicity varied spatially and temporally during the study. ⺠Sediments and organism tissues were contaminated with anthropogenic pollutants. ⺠Hydrophobic organic contaminants contributed substantially to observed toxicity.
