Abstract
⺠Halogenated natural products have been detected in marine mammals from Australia. ⺠A polybrominated compound was detected in seagrass, the main feed source of dugongs. ⺠The structure was verified by synthesis to be 2,3,4,5-tetrabromo-1-methylpyrrole (TBMP). ⺠The potential natural product was detected in passive water samplers from Australia. ⺠Highest concentrations of TBMP were determined in fish fillet from Chile.
