Abstract
▶ Three types of PBI membranes are developed for ethylene glycol dehydration. ▶ Dual-layer PBI/PEI hollow fiber membranes show much better separation performance. ▶ Synergism is obtained by combining PBI selective layer and PEI supporting layer. ▶ Spinning conditions affect the pervaporation performance of hollow fiber membranes. ▶ A thermal treatment at 75 °C enhances the separation performance.
