Abstract
► We compared impact of suspended mussel and infaunal clam farming. ► We examined changes in sediment features and nutrient fluxes in a coastal lagoon. ► Both species increase nutrient regeneration from sediment. ► Mussel farming increase organic carbon and nitrogen enrichment in the sediment. ► Mussel ropes also caused high nutrient regeneration directly within the water column.
