Abstract
⺠The work approaches the ingestion of plastic marine debris by catfishes in a tropical estuary. ⺠Plastic ingestion data are relatively rare for fish, especially small fish. ⺠These catfish species have no commercial value but are ecologically significant. ⺠The number of individuals studied is larger than normally found in ingestion reports (N = 182). ⺠Sampling was made along a tropical estuarine ecocline and along a wide time span.
