Abstract
► pH was the most important factor controlling HAA formation. ► HAA formation significantly decreased with increasing pH above 7.5. ► Formation of brominated HAA species were minimal above pH 7.5. ► HPO fractions exhibited the highest HAA yields among DOM fractions. ► HPI fractions showed the highest bromine incorporation among DOM fractions.
