Abstract
⺠The impact of methanogenic pre-treatment on aerobic MBR performance was studied. ⺠Colloidal BPC concentration presented a good correlation with membrane fouling. ⺠Hydrolysis of aerobic sludge in the methanogenic stage increased fouling potential. âºÂ Plastic support in the aerobic stage had a positive impact on membrane fouling. ⺠Biomass concentration in membrane filtration stage should be controlled.
