Abstract
⺠The fouling in RED is composed of colloidal fouling, organic fouling and scaling. ⺠The charge of the membrane is a key factor for the type of fouling. ⺠Using profiled membranes, instead of a stack with spacers, reduces the decrease in performance of the RED stack.
