Abstract
⺠Cloronicotinoid insecticides show low reactivity towards carbonate radicals. ⺠The reaction involves an initial charge transfer from the insecticide to CO3â. ⺠After prolonged irradiation chloronicotinic acid is formed. ⺠Hydroxyl and sulphate radicals are among the most effective in degrading the insecticides.
