Abstract
► Turbulent promoter (TP) has important effects on the cake properties. ► Cake thickness is greatly diminished and porosity is slightly increased. ► Cake particle size is undesirably decreased, increasing the specific resistance. ► Overall cake resistance is reduced by TP and thus permeate flux is enhanced. ► Cake properties are greatly influenced by operating conditions in both cases.
