Abstract
⺠Nutrient and DOC removal by a range of mining by-products was assessed in laboratory column trials. ⺠By-products with high proportions of Ca, Mg and Fe exhibited the greatest nutrient and DOC removal. ⺠The heavy mineral processing residue NUA was most effective for N, P and DOC removal from water. ⺠Substantial nutrient and DOC removal demonstrates potential for by-product use in water treatment.
