Abstract
⺠Connectivity metrics are playing an increasing role to characterize heterogeneous media. ⺠We classify those metrics in static versus dynamic and global versus localized. ⺠We recommend to use several static connectivity metrics simultaneously. ⺠We show evidences against using only the Euler number for the static connectivity. ⺠Characterizing connectivity requires a new vision of field hydrogeology.
