Abstract
► We review the recent literature in the field of uncertainty in hydrological data. ► We discuss how this observation uncertainty may undermine the reliability of hydrological predictions. ► We show that the effect of data errors on hydrological model should be carefully evaluated in view of model complexity. ► We show interesting results in the role of model structures in limiting or amplifying the impact of observation uncertainty.
