Abstract
⺠We have derived model parameters for wave friction over mussel beds. ⺠Over the mussel bed wave energy is lost by bed friction, no breaking occurs. ⺠Model results show increase in wave attenuation over mussel beds. ⺠Bed edge coincides with minima in wave forcing prior to bed settlement. ⺠Mussel bed appears to be located in optimal with respect to wave forcing.
