Abstract
⺠A first attempt to evaluate the Fram Strait ice area export in six CMIP5 models. ⺠An inverse relationship is found between ice export and Arctic sea ice thickness. ⺠One model suggests that ice export can explain 28% of variations in long-term trends of sea ice thickness.
