Abstract
- PDMS based membranes are effective in the removal of organic solvents from ABE mixtures.
- Butanol permeate fluxes in binary and quaternary water-organic mixtures are virtually the same.
- Water permeate fluxes do not depend on the type of organic component in feed mixture.
- Modelling of batch process shows that organics are efficiently removed from water by pervaporation.
