Appendix to the paper “Some uniserial representations of certain special linear groups” by P. Sin and J.G. Thompson

This appendix collects some material on the cohomology of discrete subgroups of Lie groups and the theory of their representation varieties to provide background for the results of Sin and Thompson (2010, 2013) in [22,23].
