Abstract
Two matrices A and B are called unitary (resp. orthogonal) equivalent if AU=VB for two unitary (resp. orthogonal) matrices U and V. Using trace identities, criteria are given for simultaneous unitary, orthogonal or complex orthogonal equivalence between two sets of matrices.
