Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic behavior of a one-dimensional problem of linear theory of nonsimple thermoelasticity with hereditary heat conduction. We show that the corresponding semigroup is exponentially stable when the thermal memory kernel decays exponentially for large time, but not analytic. We conclude by showing the impossibility of localization in time of the solutions.
