Abstract
► A carbon molecular sieve (CMS) was prepared by calcination of a Saran polymer. ► The effective diffusivity of 20 paraffins in the CMS was obtained by the ZLC method. ► The effective diffusivity decreased as the carbon number increased in each family. ► The effective diffusivity increased as the hydrocarbon branching increased. ► This unusual behavior may be the result of multiple pore mouth adsorption modes.
