Abstract
⺠A carbon molecular sieve (CMS) was prepared by calcination of a Saran polymer. ⺠The effective diffusivity of 20 paraffins in the CMS was obtained by the ZLC method. ⺠The effective diffusivity decreased as the carbon number increased in each family. ⺠The effective diffusivity increased as the hydrocarbon branching increased. ⺠This unusual behavior may be the result of multiple pore mouth adsorption modes.
